In 1988, the city of La Baule hosted the first edition of the Triathlon Audencia – La Baule, organized by Luc Chatellier and a team of students from Audencia, a Nantes business school.
Over the years, the La Baule Triathlon has become a major sporting event, bringing together several thousand athletes on one of the largest bays in Europe.
Today, 11 races start in the middle of the 9km of sand that goes from Le Pouliguen to Pornichet, and take place on the embankment of La Baule.
Each year, the City of La Baule services work in collaboration with the organizing committee and volunteers to ensure the safety and organization of the courses.
A dynamic and attractive city, La Baule also hosts other sporting events throughout the year, such as the French International Jumping for the great show jumping champions, or the Côte d’Amour marathon.
These sporting events are also an opportunity to discover the historic heart of the city, its walks, its thalassotherapies, its traditional villas and its stores on the Avenue de Gaulle.
